For Better or Worse

A story to touch your heart

About this book...

Victimhood would not define Beth Anderson. Hospital chaplain Matthew Thomas would see to that. He could never have foreseen the obstacles that would lie in the path to her recovery when he decided to help her, but he was there. Every step of the way.

Beth Anderson, the victim of a brutal attack, was left for dead. As far as she was concerned, her life was over. A chance encounter with a hospital chaplain would lead to her recovery—a recovery that would happen despite everything that fate threw in their way. His faith would be challenged, they would become entangled in the downfall of an eminent politician’s career, and Matthew’s life would hang by a thread. Would their love for each other be strong enough to pull them both through?

Set in the real world

I’m so used to novels that concentrate on catching the criminal that it’s refreshing to read how the victim of crime carries on with her life. I was really there, in an English village, an inner city and a holiday chalet was particularly vivid. This story doesn’t just end with a twist, there are unexpected plot twists and turns throughout.

I read this in three sessions, which is an ideal length for me. It didn't drag

Great Read

I am not a quick reader but l read Redemption in 1 week. I didn’t want to put it down. It is well written and covers so many different issues as well as being a love story. I do hope S D Johnson writes another book

A Smashing Read!

A domestic drama and romance whose lean, crisp prose propels this captivating story at a fast clip. I finished this story in just three evenings. Life-like characters, both likeable and detestable, will keep you engaged in the female protagonist's recovery from a violent rape. As she pieces her life back together with the help of a conflicted priest, she overcomes further trials that testify to her commitment to conquer her past and forge a new path. The ending will horrify you and surprise you. I recommend this book without reservation.
